SCOPE OF WORKS

Our team was appointed by Cala Homes to deliver a comprehensive scaffolding package for the Wimborne Phase 1 Residential Development. The project involved the supply, installation and ongoing maintenance of progressive scaffolding to both houses and apartment blocks throughout the construction programme.

Working on a live residential new build development required careful planning to ensure safe access for all trades while supporting the evolving build programme over a 24-month period.

The scope of works included:

• Progressive scaffolding to houses and apartment blocks

• 4–6 lift external scaffold elevations

• Loading bay installations

• Floor propping where required

• Gable hop-ups with gable handrails and over-sail protection

• Rhino fall-arrest safety decking to all working floors

• Ongoing scaffold inspections, adaptations and maintenance throughout the build programme

KEY CHALLENGES

The project required the careful coordination of scaffolding works across multiple plots, each progressing through different stages of construction. Scaffold installations, alterations and dismantling activities had to be planned in close collaboration with Cala Homes' site management team to ensure the scaffolding programme remained aligned with the construction schedule.

Maintaining safe access for multiple contractors while adapting scaffold layouts as buildings progressed demanded a proactive approach to planning, communication and ongoing site supervision.

The inclusion of Rhino fall-arrest safety decking across all working floors provided enhanced protection for operatives, helping maintain excellent safety standards throughout the duration of the project while reducing risks associated with working at height.
